Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as registered Apprenticeship certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of work experience: Quality assurance or control
Equipment and machinery experience: Generators, Conventional Electrical Devices, And Hand Tools
Own tools/equipment: Tools, Safety Equipment/Gear, Steel-Toed Safety Boots, And Hard Hat
Credentials: Electrician Trade Certification, Working At Heights Training, First Aid Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Construction Electrician Red Seal Certificate, Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, And Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Security and safety: Driving Record Check (Abstract) And Drug Test

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to install electrical controls and panel boxes, replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes, and demonstrate professionalism in customer service
  • The candidates should be able to install underground wiring and cables and keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • The candidates should be able to design and construct single-phase service for single or multi-meter installations, splice, join, and connect wires
  • The candidates should be able to design and construct low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase service for single or multi-meter installations and test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults, and the integrity of circuits
  • The candidates should be able to determine the appropriate selection of materials and methods for hazardous locations and troubleshoot and isolate faults
  • The candidates should be able to install surface mount and/or overhead cables, instruct apprentices, and install power generation, stand-by power generation, and power conditioning systems
  • The candidates should be able to supervise other workers, ground and bond electrical equipment, systems, and structures, including swimming pools and hot tubs
  • The candidates should be able to renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures and read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • The candidates should be able to commission systems and components
