Position: Journeyman/woman heavy-duty equipment mechanic

Salary: $40.00 hourly for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Bentley, AB

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Diesel engine repair specialization:
Fuel injection system, exhaust system, cooling system, air conditioning system, lubrication system, engine control system, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, and installation and alignment of engines and machinery
Own tools/equipment: Tools and steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks, including performing bending, crouching, and kneeling, and handling heavy loads
  • The candidates should have attention to detail and manual dexterity, and be able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime as required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accurate, dependable, and reliable
  • The candidates should be team players

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment, and adjust equipment, repairing or replacing defective parts
  • The candidates should be able to keep maintenance reports and documentation, test repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications, and clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work
  • The candidates should be able to perform repair work on heavy trucks
