Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a two-year diploma in a Legal Assistant, Legal Administration and Paralegal
Experience: Candidates should have at least one year of progressively responsible related experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should note that equivalencies will be considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of related legal experience or one year of legal experience for one year of related education
  • The candidates should have 10+ years of directly related Legal Assistant, Judicial Assistant, and/or Executive Assistant experience (preference will be given)
  • The candidates should have previous experience as a Judicial Assistant supporting three or more Justices or Judges
  • The candidates should have previous experience as an Executive Assistant supporting three or more Executives
  • The candidates should have previous experience as a Legal Assistant supporting three or more Lawyers and a Legal Assistant diploma
  • The candidates should have experience working in a Court environment, preferably with the Court of King’s Bench
  • The candidates should have experience working in an M365 environment and experience using, applying, and understanding legal terminology

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage calendars and schedule appointments and document and process budgetary and claim expenses
  • The candidates should be able to type, format, edit, and proofread judgments, including researching and verifying case and statute citations to ensure accuracy before filing
  • The candidates should be able to research and prepare correspondence and memoranda of a highly complex and confidential nature
  • The candidates should be able to prepare materials for court hearings and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain hard-copy and electronic filing systems, organizing and classifying records effectively and handle incoming telephone inquiries and mail
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate complex travel arrangements and coordinate meetings and conferences, including organizing and assembling all required documents
  • The candidates should be able to schedule judicial assignments and perform backup duties for other Judicial Assistants and perform other related administrative tasks
