Canadian National Exhibition Foundation’s Gaming Garage and Kids World Program based in Toronto, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Kids’ world supervisor. Canadian National Exhibition Foundation’s Amazing Garage and Kids World Program focuses on STEAM education for children. It offers interactive exhibits and workshops designed to spark creativity and skill development in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. It cultivates future innovators and prepares them for diverse opportunities in a competitive market. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have previous customer service or camp leader experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be adept at working in a team environment and show self-motivation and initiative
  • The candidates should be available to work all 18 days of the fair August 16 – September 2, 2024, including evenings and weekends
  • The candidates should be comfortable working in the sun, wind, rain, and humidity as this is an outside venue
  • The candidates should have the ability to stand for extended periods of time and exhibit adaptability to varying situations
  • The candidates should have the ability to walk for extended periods of time

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be prepared to dress in appropriate uniform and possess excellent communication and conflict mediation skills and experience coordinating teams of 20 or more staff members
  • The candidates should be reliable and enthusiastic and possess public speaking skills and highly efficient and organized
  • The candidates should have a friendly disposition, exhibit good judgment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should be able to work with minimal supervision and advanced customer service skills
  • The candidates should be available to assist in setting up the fair and attend Mandatory Orientation Session
  • The candidates should possess problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The candidates should have a valid G2 or G licence and demonstrate advanced customer service interaction skills
  • The candidates should possess event coordination skills, strong problem-solving abilities and demonstrate strong customer service skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure that staff arrive promptly at their stations and take scheduled breaks
  • The candidates should be able to share relevant information with staff, including weather conditions, program changes, notable exhibits and facilitate the staff rotation schedule effectively
  • The candidates should be able to act as the point of contact for any issues arising in Kids’ World, such as lost children, customer complaints, program schedules, and providing customer assistance
  • The candidates should be able to assist stage performers and program providers as needed during events and assist with opening and closing procedures for Kids’ World
  • The candidates should be able to provide enthusiastic and informative information to guests about exhibits
  • The candidates should be able to answer questions from guests regarding exhibits, programming, attractions, facilities, and services
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that program areas are well-maintained, on schedule, and presentable at all times
  • The candidates should be able to assist in maintaining a cleaning schedule for Kids’ World to uphold cleanliness standards
  • The candidates should be comfortable working and interacting with crowds, children of all ages, and in various weather conditions
