Salary: $31.89 to $40.15 hourly (To be negotiated) for 8 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Richmond, BC
Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Area of specialization: Geriatrics
Credentials: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, CPR Certificate, and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, and Tuberculosis test

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure efficiently
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and demonstrate attention to detail
  • The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks efficiently and managing a large caseload effectively

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accurate in their work and prioritize client focus, exhibiting dependability
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrating excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, and showing initiative
  • The candidates should have interpersonal awareness, exercise good judgment, and be organized, reliable team players who uphold values and ethics

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer medications and ensure infection control, including sterile dressing and monitoring nutritional intake
  • The candidates should be able to provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care, monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, and provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
  • The candidates should be able to provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice, including taking vital signs, conducting specimen collection, and monitoring patients’ progress, evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consulting with appropriate members of the healthcare team
