Work setting: Fruit and vegetable processing plant
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to tolerate various odors and work in hot environments
- The candidates should be able to work in cold or refrigerated conditions and in dusty environments
- The candidates should be able to work in wet or damp conditions
- The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and possess manual dexterity
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods during work and demonstrate attention to detail
- The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling and able to handle heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- The candidates should be physically capable of meeting the demands of the job and capable of working under pressure
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should possess food safety and handling skills and be able to transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials
- The candidates should be able to measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines and feed flattened boxes into forming machines to construct containers
- The candidates should be able to provide customer service, remove filled containers from conveyors, and manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers
- The candidates should be able to feed and unload processing machines, check products and packaging for basic quality defects, and assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties
- The candidates should be able to clean machines and immediate work areas
