Work setting: Construction company, Various locations and Landscape contractor
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Landscape construction and Plant knowledge and identification
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to tolerate odors and work effectively in noisy environments
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and have attention to detail, be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, and capable of handling heavy loads
- The candidates should have good manual dexterity and be able to handle repetitive tasks efficiently, perform tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling, and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods if necessary
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate flexibility in their approach to tasks and schedules
- The candidates should be organized in their work habits and reliable in meeting commitments
- The candidates should be collaborative team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to estimate costs and read and interpret blueprints
- The candidates should be able to water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products, and apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and injecting with treatment solutions
- The candidates should be able to assess the health of lawns, direct crews who maintain the health and appearance of golf courses and their surrounding landscapes, and examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease
- The candidates should be able to plan and coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses, and other purposes, plan and construct landscaped environments which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures, and plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens
- The candidates should be able to plant and move trees
