Salary: $27.00 to $46.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Scarborough, ON
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, and Vehicle supplied by employer
Work setting: Steel-toed safety boots and Gloves
Supervision: 1 to 2 people, 3-4 people, and 5-10 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Registered Apprenticeship certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Area of specialization: Interior landscaping, Lawn care, Grounds maintenance, and Landscape construction
Equipment and machinery experience: Backhoe, Chain saw, Forklift, Front end loader, Pick-up truck, Small engine equipment, Sod cutter, Tractor, and Tractor mower
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots and Gloves
Credentials: Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) certification
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, aware of and able to handle potentially dangerous situations, and comfortable working at heights
• The candidates should be able to work in hot conditions
• The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, capable of working under pressure, and adept at meeting tight deadlines
• The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, and possess manual dexterity
• The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, have the ability to distinguish between colors, and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• The candidates should be comfortable with standing for extended periods, able to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed, and able to manage a large workload

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should demonstrate a strong focus on client satisfaction and have excellent oral communication skills
• The candidates should show initiative in their work and exercise good judgment
• The candidates should be team players

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to plan and direct grounds maintenance, organize and direct the construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls, and plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction work
• The candidates should be able to maintain work records and logs, read blueprints and drawings, and repair and maintain equipment
• The candidates should be able to requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies, resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
• The candidates should be able to supervise nursery and greenhouse workers, and establish work schedules and procedures
