Salary: $32.00 to $43.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: 3121 Tyrol Cres, Whistler, BC V8E 0B8
Shifts: Day, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Vehicle supplied by employer
Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer, Willing to relocate
Supervision: 1 to 4 people contractors
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Grounds maintenance, Landscape construction
Equipment and machinery experience: Backhoe, Front end loader, Pick-up truck, Small engine equipment, Sod cutter
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced environment and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, perform physically demanding tasks, and possess manual dexterity with a meticulous attention to detail
- The candidates should have the ability to distinguish between colors, be able to stand for extended periods, and engage in bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be accustomed to handling a large workload
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a strong client focus and exhibit excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should demonstrate initiative in their work and exercise sound judgment in decision-making
- The candidates should be effective team players
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to organize and direct the planting of trees, gardens, and lawns, as well as plan and estimate labor and materials
- The candidates should be able to organize and direct the construction of fences, decks, and walls, and plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction work
- The candidates should be able to maintain work records and logs, read blueprints and drawings, and requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies
- The candidates should be able to resolve work-related problems
