Position: Lathe operator, CNC (computer numerical control) – metal machining

Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 42.5 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Mississauga, ON
Shifts: Morning, 07:00 to 16:00
Transportation information: Own transportation
Work setting: Custom machine shop
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Equipment and machinery experience: Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be attentive to detail and possess hand-eye coordination
- They should be capable of handling weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills and demonstrate reliability
- They should have the ability to multitask
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate and set up machines for repetitive machining operations, entering codes for CNC machine tools
- They should verify dimensions of machined parts using precise measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers
- The candidates should perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery, and maintain a clean workspace
