Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should must have a medical degree, postgraduate fellowship training, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Anesthesia (or equivalent) and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Experience: Candidates should must have proven clinical skills at a high level, evidence of demonstrated excellence in research and/or education and a commitment to teaching students, residents, and fellows

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide anesthetic care throughout the surgical and obstetric programs, including supervision and teaching of students, residents, and fellows
  • The candidates should be able to provide on-call services in rotation
  • The candidates should be able to participate in formal in-house and University teaching programs, as well as hospital administrative duties
  • The candidates should be able to take advantage of academic opportunities for research and teaching
  • The candidates should be able to receive protected time according to a merit-based system
  • The candidates should be able to have major clinical responsibilities and facilitate research, teaching, and education by others in addition to their own academic activities
  • The candidates should be able to teach concurrently with clinical care and/or in organized educational programs
