Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
Experience: Candidates should have minimum one year’s Long Term Care nursing experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed an accredited practical nurse education program
  • The candidates should possess a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • The candidates should have experience with Connect Care and general computer skills
  • The candidates should have CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
  • The candidates should be able to administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
  • The candidates should be able to monitor and record vital signs, patient symptoms, and overall health status
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
