Salary: $18.00 hourly for 30 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Dawson Creek, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Experience with special needs children: Autistic children

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure
  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail
  • The candidates should weigh between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a client focus, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and exhibit flexibility
  • The candidates should show initiative, demonstrate good judgment, and be reliable
  • The candidates should have patience and display honesty

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to care for pets, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals, travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, and tend to the emotional well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and to appointments, supervise and care for children, and organize activities such as games and outings for children
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, and instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
  • The candidates should be able to implement treatment plans, discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, and bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
  • The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, help children with homework, and collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients’ special needs
