Salary: $16.55 hourly 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Full time
Location: Scarborough, ON
Shifts: Day
Work setting: Room and board provided, Employer’s home
Target audience: Elderly, Males, Persons with a disability, and Persons with physical disabilities
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Credentials:Â CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety:Â Criminal record check, Reference required
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking and capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks and comfortable with sitting and walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual and client-focused, demonstrating dependability
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral communication abilities, exhibiting flexibility
- The candidates should show initiative and exercise good judgment, while being organized, reliable, and demonstrating patience and upholding honesty
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, including assisting clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, feeding or assisting in feeding, and changing non-sterile dressings
- The candidates should be able to administer medications and assist clients in water (i.e., pool), as well as assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
- The candidates should be able to provide companionship and personal care
