Salary: $22.90 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Victoria, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment, Urban area, Work in employer’s/client’s home, Employer’s home
Target audience: Adults, Females, Persons with physical disabilities

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Health Care Aide Certificate
Security and safety: Reference required

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smokers
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their workday and be prepared for repetitive tasks as part of their duties
  • The candidates should be able to sit for extended periods as required by the role and be capable of walking for extended periods as necessary for the role
  • The candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure and handle weights between 81 and 100 kg (177-220 lbs) as needed

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should prioritize punctuality in their attendance and demonstrate dependability in fulfilling their responsibilities
  • The candidates should prioritize client focus in their interactions and possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • The candidates should exhibit excellent oral communication abilities and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances
  • The candidates should show initiative in taking proactive steps to address challenges and exercise good judgment in decision-making situations
  • The candidates should maintain an organized approach to their work and be reliable in fulfilling their duties
  • The candidates should be effective team players, collaborating well with colleagues

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, assist clients in water (i.e., pool), and assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the householder, launder clothing and household linens, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • The candidates should be able to provide companionship, provide personal care, and shop for food and household supplies
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals
