Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Elderly, males, and persons with physical disabilities 
Credentials: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, reference required, immunization records, and vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be non-smoking
• The candidates should be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling as required by the job and be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during work hours
• The candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage tasks efficiently, be capable of handling heavy loads safely and effectively, and be physically capable of performing demanding tasks
• The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks consistently and accurately, be comfortable with sitting as part of their job requirements, and be able to stand for extended periods comfortably
• The candidates should be capable of walking as part of their job responsibilities, work effectively under pressure, and be able to handle weights between 81 and 100 kg (177-220 lbs) as required by the job

• The candidates should prioritize punctuality, consistently arriving on time for work and appointments, and demonstrate a strong focus on client needs and satisfaction
• The candidates should be dependable, fulfilling their responsibilities reliably, possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues, and excel in oral communication, conveying information clearly and professionally
• The candidates should exhibit flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and requirements, show initiative in taking proactive steps to address challenges and achieve goals, and exercise sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving situations
• The candidates should maintain an organized approach to tasks and responsibilities, be reliable, consistently fulfilling their duties and commitments, and be team players, collaborating effectively with others to achieve common objectives

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
• If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, administer medications, and assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• The candidates should be able to assist in regular exercise, e.g., walking, assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the householder, and change non-sterile dressings
• The candidates should be able to feed or assist in feeding, launder clothing and household linens, and mend clothing and linens
• The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, plan therapeutic diets and menus, and provide companionship
• The candidates should also be able to provide personal care, shop for food and household supplies, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
