Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a secondary school program
Experience: Candidates should have within the last 3 years in a Dispatcher role or related position within a Logistics environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing to obtain a Class 4 MB license and provide a commercial driver’s abstract
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • The candidates should have the physical capability to load, unload, push, and carry heavy clinic equipment and supplies, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 30 lbs
  • The candidates should contribute to and support a strong culture of mutual respect and integrity and be available to work Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1600

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have current experience (within the last 3 years) in a customer service environment
  • The candidates should have experience in a Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations environment
  • The candidates should possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience if applicable
  • The candidates should have effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise tact, sound judgment, and discretion when dealing with others

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to utilize their organizational skills to review, plan, and coordinate vehicle and staff resources to meet daily operational requirements
  • The candidates should be able to ensure vehicle maintenance is in accordance with the Canadian Blood Services Transportation Rules and Procedures Manual by drawing on their knowledge of safe transportation procedures and attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to leverage their strong communication skills to facilitate the resolution of day-to-day operational issues, consulting the supervisor or manager for direction as appropriate
  • The candidates should be able to initiate, post, and revise the Driver’s daily work schedule to accommodate changing workflows within the department, including staff and donor shuttles, mobile transportation, hospital deliveries, and center functions
  • The candidates should be able to build and foster professional relationships with vendors, internal, and external customers
  • The candidates should be able to complete appropriate documentation required for department activities, compile statistical information, and prepare reports
  • The candidates should be able to serve as the first point of reference in resolving day-to-day center and mobile-related issues, problem-solve, and redirect resources
