Salary: $27.00 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Willing to travel for extended periods, Valid driver’s licence, and Willing to travel overnight
Work setting: Various locations

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Transportation/travel experience: International, Long-haul
Security and safety: Drug test and Driving record check (abstract)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically demanding and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail and handle large workload
  • The candidates should be able to sit for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be flexible and reliable
  • The candidates should be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, load and unload goods, obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • The candidates should be able to oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments, perform emergency roadside repairs, perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, perform preventive maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, transport and handle dangerous goods
