Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically fit and able to lift supplies such as bags of fertilizer or buckets of cones, and operate equipment including ATVs, orchard lifts, pruners, weed eaters, and mowers on an ongoing basis
- The candidates should be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, including winter conditions, and tolerate potential allergens such as pollen, grass, insects, chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, as well as be comfortable working at heights using lifts and ladders
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have demonstrated experience operating and maintaining farm or agricultural tractors (up to 90hp) and equipment such as Bobcats and spray tanks
- The candidates should have experience performing manual labour or outdoor work, preferably with plants tree planting, gardening, landscaping, orchard work, or cone picking), or possess equivalent training and experience
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to carry out a variety of general labour activities relating to the care and maintenance of seed orchards and picking cones
- The candidates should be able to operate a variety of light to heavy-duty machinery and equipment
- The candidates should be able to carry out routine site and building maintenance functions under the direction of a supervisor
