Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in a facility operations environment and deal effectively with the public in a friendly and professional manner
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be proficient ice skaters and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
- The candidates should be able to work with minimal supervision and exhibit good leadership and interpersonal skills
- The candidates should possess knowledge of cleaning procedures, hold Emergency First Aid and/or CPR certification and knowledge of WHMIS
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to patrol public skating effectively, prioritizing patron safety while promoting leisure activities
- The candidates should be able to monitor access to public skating areas to ensure proper usage and compliance with facility rules
- The candidates should be able to skate among participants, providing guidance and maintaining a safe environment
- The candidates should be able to enforce safety rules and regulations during public skating sessions
- The candidates should be able to assist with the maintenance and cleaning of the community center and arena, including swimming pools, fitness areas, meeting rooms, lobbies, washrooms, change rooms, viewing areas, and stairways
- The candidates should be able to move and secure hockey nets and prepare and clean the ice resurfacing machine to maintain the ice surface quality
- The candidates should be able to perform pool vacuuming tasks to ensure cleanliness and hygiene
- The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned, supporting the overall operations and maintenance of the facility
