Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of High School
Experience: Candidates should have 3+ years experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to lead the team, including conducting meetings and managing projects

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a GED and take ownership of facility location
  • The candidates must hold a valid Refrigeration, Electrician, Plumbing, Appliance Journeyman level license issued by the province
  • The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license, demonstrate leadership skills and capable of providing peer-to-peer tech support
  • The candidates should have effective communication skills and experience in project management and stretch assignments

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform on-the-job training and assessment of new Techs and conduct follow-up assessments and training of new Techs after they have been in the field for a given time
  • The candidates should be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of a Tech 1 and achieve at least 75% proficiency in Tech II duties and responsibilities
  • The candidates should be able to respond to work orders for a wide variety of in-store equipment, including minor repairs of HVAC, refrigeration, hot and cold beverage equipment, ice makers, hot food equipment, and fuel dispensers
  • The candidates should be able to respond to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issues and replace ‘plug and play’ equipment and instruct, oversee, correct, and support their assigned Apprentice
  • The candidates should be able to oversee Apprentices in specific disciplines and maintain official log-books and complete required evaluations for each Apprentice if overseeing them
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and oversee the work of Apprentices and submit hours or paperwork required for their apprentice certifications to the trades board
  • The candidates should be able to periodically report on apprentice progress both in the field and in classes and support Apprentices with online classes
  • The candidates should be able to ensure safety policies and guidelines are adhered to by Apprentices during their training period and support and develop best practices for training
  • The candidates should be able to perform site assessments, coaching, and follow-up and assess Techs’ strengths and areas of opportunity to help coach and train them
  • The candidates should be able to develop strategies to support continual growth and skills development with Apprentices
