Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a high School Diploma or completion of equivalent education
Experience: Candidates should have 1-2 years’ experience in construction or building maintenance

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment, and grounds
  • The candidates should be able to assemble, move, deliver, set up, and pick up furniture and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform general repair work on structures, including patching and painting any damaged walls

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should possess knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislation, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment
  • Advanced proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of other languages is considered an asset
  • The candidate should be able to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment
  • The candidate should have passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care is a desired attribute in the candidate

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment, and grounds
  • The candidates should be able to assemble, move, deliver, set up, and pick up furniture and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform general repair work on structures, patch, and paint any damaged walls
  • The candidates should be able to assist the Plant, Building & Safety Manager in the inspection of buildings, grounds, and equipment, carrying out preventive maintenance program actions
  • The candidates should be able to access the PM Worx program for Preventive Maintenance schedules and to process work orders
  • The candidates should be able to request necessary materials, supplies, parts, and tools required and maintain control of storage and use
  • The candidates should be able to take every precaution that is reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees, residents, and all others in the workplace
