Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have high School Diploma or completion of equivalent education
Experience: Candidates should have 1-2 years’ experience in construction or building maintenance
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- The candidates should demonstrate advanced proficiency in English, with other languages considered an asset
- The candidates should be able to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening
- The candidates should have a passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment, and grounds
- The candidates should be able to assemble, move, deliver, set up, and pick up furniture and equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform general repair work on structures, patching & painting any damaged walls
- The candidates should be able to assist the Plant, Building & Safety Manager in the inspection of buildings, grounds, and equipment and carry out preventive maintenance program actions
- The candidates should be able to access the PM Worx program for Preventive Maintenance schedules and to process work orders
- The candidates should be able to request necessary materials, supplies, parts, and tools required and maintain control of storage and use
- The candidates should be able to take every precaution that is reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees, residents, and all others in the workplace
