Work setting: On-site customer service, Commercial, Residential
Supervision: 1 to 2 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be willing to for overtime
- The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination and distinguish between colours
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads and large workload
- The candidates should be able to work in odours and in dusty area
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, and reliable
- The candidates should be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
- The candidates should be able to mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel
- The candidates should be able to prepare rough plans and sketches, set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base
- The candidates should be able to align and straighten tiles and prepare tenders and quotations
- The candidates should be able to cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
- The candidates should be able to instruct apprentices, and pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
- The candidates should be able to remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
- The candidates should be able to supervise other workers and lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs
- The candidates should be able to cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite
- The candidates should be able to estimate costs and materials and mix, lay and polish terra surface
