Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have certification from a recognized fitness association
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in a specialized area, such as Stability Ball, Kettle Bell, TRX, Bosu, Spin, Kickboxing, Zumba, Child, Youth Fitness, Line Dancing, Older Adult Fitness, and exercise rehabilitation
  • The candidates should have HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification, which is required for instructing children’s programs ages 4-12 years
  • The candidates should have Standard First Aid with AED/CPR C certification and present a satisfactory criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 30 days, prior to commencing the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide facility members and patrons with safe and effective fitness classes tailored to various fitness levels and limitations
  • The candidates should be able to professionally represent the facility by enforcing regulations and protocols, assisting participants, correcting techniques, handling incidents/emergencies, resolving conflicts, and marketing fitness classes
  • The candidates should be able to make recommendations to the Fitness Coordinator based on observations and user feedback regarding class types, operations, and policies
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with Facility Operators and Front Desk Staff to ensure smooth departmental operations, including Fitness Centre maintenance and customer service issues
  • The candidates should be able to monitor fitness class participants to ensure the appropriateness of program content and difficulty levels
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the on-site safety of all participants during fitness classes
  • The candidates should be able to provide excellent customer service by maintaining a welcoming demeanor, professional conduct, and clear communication
  • The candidates should be able to support and promote the HIGH FIVE “principles of healthy child development and perform other related duties
