Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have at least 1 year of shipping experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work in accordance with Health, Safety regulations, company rules, policies, and procedures
- The candidates should have previous experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing and be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- The candidates should have a valid driver’s license (abstract required upon hire) and the ability to work independently and in a team setting a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience working in a manufacturing environment and material handling experience
- The candidates should have previous experience operating a forklift and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- The candidates should have a high level of English reading, writing, and comprehension skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to complete tasks while adhering to Health & Safety policies and procedures and use heavy equipment such as forklifts, carts, dollies, and overhead cranes to move equipment to and from shops, shipping area, paint area, and yard storage
- The candidates should be able to drive company vehicles and trucks and ensure material is placed and secured on appropriate pallets or crates and secured for storage and transport
- The candidates should be able to read, understand, and follow work instructions, and work with the shift supervisor(s) and managers, warehouse personnel to resolve concerns
- The candidates should be able to maintain material-handling equipment by completing equipment inspections and identifying needed repairs with the shift supervisor(s), maintenance personnel
- The candidates should be able to work with the shift supervisor(s), warehouse personnel to ensure warehouse and yard space is utilized to the best of its ability, use hand tools, including but not limited to saws, strapping tools, and other sorted hand tools to accomplish tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform visual inspections and report any visible imperfections bolts, touch ups and irregularities, follow and meet instructions and maintain and clean the shop, warehouse area as well as the yard or shop storage locations
- The candidates should be able to continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement
- The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned yard arrangements, paint touch ups, unloading and receiving trucks, work overtime as required
