Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should possess relevant training and experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to operate heavy mobile equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform heavy lifting
- The candidates should be able to work at height
- The candidates should be able to work in different workplace conditions such as heat, cold, dusty, noise, wet and chemical
- The candidates should be self-motivated
- The candidates should be capable of making decisions with minimum supervision
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have accreditation of basic Mill common core modules
- The candidates should have a basic understanding of mill settings and related equipment such as ball mills, pumps, conveyors and crushers
- The candidates should have a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical functions
- The candidates should be able to wear respiratory protection
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure all workers work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants, and all other applicable government standards and regulations
- The candidates should be able to adhere to and enforce all safety and environmental considerations
- The candidates should be able to adhere to and enforce the internal responsibility system and Five Point Safety System
- The candidates should be able to ensure that any equipment deemed damaged or unsafe is not used and is removed from operations until made safe
- The candidates should be able to assist or participate in daily safety meetings
- The candidates should be able to follow up on housekeeping
- The candidates should be able to maintain working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- The candidates should be able to perform all other activities entrusted by the immediate supervisor
