Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of High school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have 1 to 2 years experience in an Ore Processing Mill
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to operate heavy mobile equipment, be capable of performing heavy lifting and be able to work at heights
- The candidates should be comfortable working in various workplace conditions, including heat, cold, dust, noise, wet environments, and exposure to chemicals
- The candidates should be self-motivated and be capable of making decisions with minimal supervision
- The candidates should have a basic understanding of mill settings and related equipment, such as ball mills, pumps, conveyors, and crushers
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should hold accreditation for basic Mill common core modules and a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical functions and wear respiratory protection
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure all workers comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants, and all other applicable government standards and regulations
- The candidates should be able to adhere to and enforce all safety and environmental considerations
- The candidates should be able to enforce the internal responsibility system and the Five Point Safety System
- The candidates should be able to ensure that any equipment deemed damaged or unsafe due to defects or inoperative protection systems is not used and is removed from operations until made safe
- The candidates should be able to assist or participate in daily safety meetings and follow up on housekeeping practices
- The candidates should be able to maintain working areas and equipment in clean and orderly conditions
- The candidates should be able to perform all other activities entrusted by the immediate supervisor
