Salary: $43.00 to $50.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC & Delta, BC
Shifts: Day, 06:00 to 16:30
Transportation information: Own transportation, own vehicle, valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Machinery installation, various locations, maintenance, repair, machine set-up
Welding techniques: Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG)
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Start-up and testing, troubleshooting, welding
Equipment and machinery experience: Tool grinders, welding equipment, hand tools
Own tools/equipment: Tools, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat
Credentials: Construction Millwright Trade Certification, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement, Welder Trade Certification, Forklift Operator Certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working at heights in noisy, odorous, and dusty environments
- The candidates should be capable of handling physically demanding tasks and have attention to detail. Overtime may be required
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, repair or replace defective machinery parts, and fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up
- The candidates should be able to perform routine maintenance work on machinery and operate machining tools to fabricate parts
