Salary: $49.00 to $50.00 hourly (to be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC & Delta, BC
Shifts: Day, 06:00 to 16:30
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation, Own vehicle
Work setting: Machinery installation, Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, Machine set-up
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as trades certificate or diploma
Experience Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years’
Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
Equipment and machinery experience: Tool grinders, Welding equipment, Hand tools
Area of specialization: Start-up and testing, Troubleshooting
Own tools/equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
Credentials: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement, Forklift Operator Certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be willing to for overtime
- The candidates should be able to work in noisy area, in odours, in dusty area, and at heights
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
- The candidates should be able to repair or replace defective machinery parts
- The candidates should be able to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up, perform routine maintenance work on machinery
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications, operate machining tools to fabricate parts
- The candidates should be able to assemble machinery and equipment (prior to installation), installing machinery and equipment
- The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment
