Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School Diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience operating a front-end loader

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be aware that the role is located at the Magino Mine, approximately 88 kilometers northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada
  • The candidates should be prepared to work a rotation of 7 days on and 7 days off or 14 days on and 14 days off (12-hour days)
  • The candidates should understand that although a work schedule will be assigned, it is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and work hours may vary with the needs of the company
  • The candidates should be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts and aware that Magino promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have or GED equivalent, a valid driver’s license (G class) and preferably in an open pit mine, with experience operating an excavator, dozer, and grader
  • The candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity
  • The candidates should be self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines
  • The candidates should have strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly and promote Health and Safety practices

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to practice safe work behaviors and support the Magino safety culture through participation in daily and monthly safety meetings
  • The candidates should be able to safely operate front-end loaders as well as other assigned equipment to meet daily plan and operation targets
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively using a 2-way radio system and maintain equipment integrity
  • The candidates should be able to complete risk assessments prior to each task and perform pre-operations and post-operations circle checks and complete equipment logbooks
  • The candidates should be able to meet planned targets on a shift-by-shift basis and perform other duties
