Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Ontario Powered Lift Truck Technician (Ontario #282E)
Experience: Candidates should have experience in electrical systems or electronics

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work at heights up to 45 feet and capable of frequent heavy lifting up to 50 lbs
  • The candidates should be able to stand for long periods with occasional laying, stooping, and crouching

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a Certificate of Qualification in Automotive Service Technician (Ontario #310S) with relevant experience, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Ontario #421A) with relevant experience or Technical trade or other designation or qualifications with relevant experience
  • The candidates should have a background and experience in vehicle repair and troubleshooting
  • The candidates should have experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform service and preventative maintenance on all mobile equipment within the Distribution Center (D.C)
  • The candidates should be able to maintain parts and work records using a computerized maintenance system (MAXIMO) and troubleshoot mobile equipment and systems using schematics, detailed drawings, or manufacturer’s specifications
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and repair electric motors and combustion engines and and repair electrical vehicle control systems and and repair electrical battery charging systems and mobile equipment charging distribution systems
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and repair vehicle power trains, including power shift transmissions, torque converters, pumps, and linkages and troubleshoot and repair brake systems, steering systems, and hydraulic systems
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and repair load masts and related systems and assist in other Maintenance department repairs and troubleshoot and repair Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) controls and power systems
  • The candidates should be able to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and inspect and examine mobile equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and lift trucks to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair of mobile equipment
  • The candidates should be able to work at heights up to 45 feet safely and respond to truck breakdowns promptly and follow Maintenance Quality and Standard Operating Procedures as established
  • The candidates should be able to work in a safe and effective manner, adhering to all safety policies and procedures and demonstrate flexibility when tasks are reassigned or altered
  • The candidates should be able to perform repairs with minimal supervision, taking responsibility and making decisions to complete the job within time demands
