Work setting: Employer’s home, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment, Urban area, and Work in employer’s/client’s home
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, Child welfare check, Criminal record check, Drug test, Reference required, Vulnerable sector check, and Basic security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking and able to work in a scent-free environment
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, manage physically demanding tasks, and handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
- The candidates should be willing to work overtime as required, perform repetitive tasks, and work under pressure
- The candidates should have strong attention to detail and be able to handle weight
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be client-focused, have efficient interpersonal skills, and possess excellent oral and written communication
- The candidates should be flexible, show initiative, and have good judgment
- The candidates should be organized, reliable, and a team player with strong time management skills
- The candidates should have patience and be honest
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
- The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, and wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens
- The candidates should be able to discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, and keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
- The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, organize activities such as games and outings for children, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
- The candidates should be able to supervise and care for children, take children to and from school and to appointments, tend to the emotional well-being of children, and cook
