Shifts: Day, Overtime, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Public transportation is available
Work setting: Employer’s home, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment, Urban area, Work in employer’s/client’s home
Target Audience: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children, School age (6 – 12 years), Over 12 years

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Credentials: First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, Child welfare check, Criminal record check, Drug test, Medical exam, Reference required, Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smoking and scent-free
  • The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads, up to 9 kg (20 lbs), and be physically fit for physically demanding tasks
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required, be prepared for repetitive tasks, and be able to work under pressure

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be focused on clients, possess efficient interpersonal skills, have excellent oral communication abilities, and demonstrate excellent written communication skills
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility, take initiative, demonstrate good judgment, be organized, and be reliable and a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • The candidates should be able to shop for food and household supplies and travel with the family on trips, assisting with child supervision and housekeeping duties
  • The candidates should be able to wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens and discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
  • The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development and keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children.
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home and organize activities such as games and outings for children
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals and prepare infants and children for rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and care for children, take children to and from school and appointments, and tend to the emotional well-being of children
