Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completed recognized Nurse Practitioner program
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years clinical nursing experience in the last seven years in adult acute care medicine services
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should constantly move, lift, or operate equipment or machinery up to 10 lbs. and regularly be required to lift or move equipment, books, and supplies occasionally, they may have to reposition a patient over 50 lbs
- The candidates should expect physical effort that includes regular sitting to conduct patient histories, performing work on the computer, and assessing patients. They should regularly stand or walk
- The candidates should regularly use fine finger or precision work and hand tools medical instruments, computer mouse, stethoscope, dopplers requiring accurate control and steadiness when performing procedures
- The candidates should have strong visual concentration when performing physical assessments and procedures, completing charts or reports, observing patients, reading equipment or monitors, and completing work-related correspondence on the computer
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of NL and be licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Nurse Practitioner (Family/All Ages or Adult) with the CRNNL
- The candidates should hold a current BCLS certification and strong abilities in collaboration, clinical reasoning, professional development, interpersonal effectiveness, conflict management, and teamwork
- The candidates should have demonstrated progressive clinical leadership skills and the ability to function autonomously in an advanced practice role
- The candidates should possess strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and teaching skills
- The candidates should support and participate in research to improve practice and client outcomes
- The candidates should have demonstrated skills in computer and database management and a satisfactory record of work performance
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide diagnostic treatment, education, and follow-up care for individuals with acute and chronic diseases
- The candidates should be able to collaborate effectively within an interprofessional team to address patient
- The candidates should be able to conduct ongoing assessments and monitoring of patients within the medicine program
- The candidates should be able to adapt care plans based on evolving patient conditions and medical requirements
- The candidates should be able to prioritize patient education and support to promote long-term health management
