Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Grade 12 education or equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have 5+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and years of experience) in oil refining or related and applicable activities

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to inspect, load, weigh, sample, seal, bill oil and distillate cars as assigned
  • The candidates should be able to unload and transfer clay, filter aid, and silica
  • The candidates should be able to move and sort cars by means of rail moving equipment
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that loading/unloading equipment is kept clean and in good working order to achieve the highest efficiency as assigned

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess full knowledge of and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • The candidates should have full knowledge of and comply with related Good Manufacturing Practices
  • The candidates should have full knowledge of and comply with Standard Operating Procedures
  • The candidates should engage in proactive safety activities, demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment, and exhibit a positive attitude towards duties and supervisors
  • The candidates should be reliable in carrying out duties and following instructions, demonstrate initiative and performance without supervision, and effectively cooperate with other employees
  • The candidates should maintain good housekeeping practices, possess good mechanical aptitude, and possess good computer/keyboard skills, hold a valid class 5 Manitoba driver’s license, and have the ability to work from heights and in confined spaces, along with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform minor maintenance on equipment as assigned
  • The candidates should be able to perform any other related duties as required
  • The candidates should be able to report any non-compliance to supervision immediately
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with operations supervisor, operators, logistics, laboratory, and maintenance personnel.
  • The candidates should be able to display a positive image and maintain customer focus when dealing with outside groups such as carriers, suppliers, etc.
