Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution in Exercise Sciences, Exercise Physiology, Health Sciences and Kinesiology
Experience: Candidates should have experience in ergonomics
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a high school or equivalent diploma
- The candidates should have one of the following qualifications with six months of job experience or certification in the last three years
- The candidates should have a valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic Certification from the Ministry of Health AND the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators
- The candidates should have a current valid Emergency Medical Technician Basic Certification from the Department of Health AND the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), Licensed Practical Nurse from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Provincial College of Nurses AND Department of Health, Registered Practical Nurse from the Ministry of Health AND the Provincial College of Nurses AND Department of Health
- The candidates should be a Military Medical Technician (Canada), Combat Medic (USA), Field Medic (USA), Healthcare Specialist (USA), Hospital Corpsman (USN), or Aerospace Medical Service Technician (USAF)
- The candidates should have a valid card evidencing successful completion of standard first aid with CPR, AED level A or C from a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved certifying authority
- The candidates should be certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Red Cross
- The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office and to communicate effectively and display professional behavior
- The candidates should have a passion for promoting health and wellness
- The candidates should have experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, with federal and province-specific regulations, coaching on body mechanics, digital recordkeeping and an industrial wellness program
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide triage, prompt first aid within the scope of their training, and referral to outside medical providers, if indicated
- The candidates should be able to minimize the risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement and maintain all records of care provided
- The candidates should be able to develop a first aid care plan for individuals recovering from an injury, focusing on injury improvement, including self-care instructions
- The candidates should be able to provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports and manage the workers’ compensation and return to work process for individuals with work-related injuries
- The candidates should be able to spend frequent time on the warehouse floor to interact and engage with individuals and managers to coach on observed at-risk work habits
- The candidates should be able to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- The candidates should be able to monitor and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained
- The candidates should be able to participate in special projects and ad hoc tasks
- The candidates should be able to work flexible shifts, which could include days, nights, and weekends and trained to teach First Aid, CPR and AED certification classes
- The candidates should be able to multitask and have exceptional time management skills and work in and embrace an inclusive and diverse atmosphere
- The candidates should be able to follow direction, policy, and procedures as per Amazon and local regulation and composure in emergencies and lead emergency response at the site
