Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have six months of job experience as a Military Medical Technician (Canadian Armed Forces) within the last year

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a valid card evidencing successful completion of standard first aid with CPR or AED level A or C from a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved certifying authority
  • The candidates should have a valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Certification from the Ministry of Health and the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators
  • The candidates should have a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) certification from the Ministry of Health and the Provincial College of Nurses and Department of Health
  • The candidates should have experience with workers’ compensation and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • The candidates should be certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Red Cross
  • The candidates should have experience with an industrial wellness program and a passion for promoting health and wellness
  • The candidates should have experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, experience in ergonomics and experience coaching on body mechanics
  • The candidates should have knowledge of federal and province-specific regulations and proficient in digital recordkeeping
  • The candidates should be willing to be trained to teach First Aid, CPR or AED certification classes and communicate effectively and multitask and have exceptional time management skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide triage, prompt first aid within the scope of their training, and referral to outside medical providers
  • The candidates should be able to minimize the risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement
  • The candidates should be able to maintain all records of care provided to associates and develop a first aid care plan for associates recovering from an injury, focusing on injury improvement, including self-care instructions
  • The candidates should be able to manage the workers’ compensation and return-to-work process for associates with work-related injuries
  • The candidates should be able to provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports and spend frequent time on the warehouse floor to interact and engage with associates and managers to coach on observed at-risk work habits
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a clean and orderly environment and monitor and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained and participate in special projects and ad hoc tasks and display professional behavior
  • The candidates should be able to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
  • The candidates should be able to work in and embrace an inclusive and diverse atmosphere and follow direction, policy, and procedures as per Amazon and local regulation
  • The candidates should be able to maintain composure in emergencies and lead emergency response at the site
