Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution in Exercise Sciences, Exercise Physiology, Health Sciences and Kinesiology
Experience: Candidates should have experience in ergonomics

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • The candidates should have successfully completed the first aid training course or examination approved by WorkSafe BC and hold a valid occupational first aid – level II certification from WorkSafe BC or an approved entity
  • The candidates should have one of the following certifications within the last three years Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic Certification from the Ministry of Health and the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators, Current valid Emergency Medical Technician Basic Certification from the Department of Health and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), Licensed Practical Nurse certification from the Ministry of Health and the Provincial College of Nurses and Department of Health, Registered Practical Nurse certification from the Ministry of Health and the Provincial College of Nurses and Department of Health, Military Medical Technician (Canada), Combat Medic (USA), Field Medic (USA), Healthcare Specialist (USA), Hospital Corpsman (USN) and Aerospace Medical Service Technician (USAF)
  • The candidates should have experience with workers’ compensation and knowledge of federal and province-specific regulations
  • The candidates should be certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Red Cross
  • The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with an industrial wellness program
  • The candidates should have a passion for promoting health and wellness and experience coaching on body mechanics
  • The candidates should be proficient in digital recordkeeping and experience managing musculoskeletal disorders

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide triage, prompt first aid within the scope of your training, and referral to outside medical providers, if indicated
  • The candidates should be able to minimize the AA risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement
  • The candidates should be able to maintain all records of care provided to AAs and manage the workers’ compensation and return-to-work process for AAs with work-related injuries
  • The candidates should be able to develop a first aid care plan for AAs recovering from an injury, focused on injury improvement, including self-care instructions and provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports
  • The candidates should be able to spend frequent time on the warehouse floor to interact and engage with AAs and managers to coach on observed at-risk work habits and maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • The candidates should be able to monitor and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained and and embrace an inclusive and diverse atmosphere and display professional behavior
  • The candidates should be able to participate in special projects and ad hoc tasks and trained to teach First Aid, CPR or AED certification classes
  • The candidates should be able to work flexible shifts, which could include days, nights, and weekends and multitask and have exceptional time management skills and communicate effectively
  • The candidates should be able to follow direction, policy, and procedures as per Amazon and local regulations and maintain composure in emergencies and lead emergency response at the site
