Location: Whitehorse, YT
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning and Morning
Work setting: Dairy department, produce department, non-perishable goods, frozen foods department, supermarket/grocery store and wholesalers
Work site environment: Candidates should work in cold or refrigerated
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Own tools/equipment: Candidates should have steel-toed safety boots
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced environment, work under pressure, maintain tight deadlines, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, pay attention to detail, stand for extended periods, walk and also for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be physically strong and also a combination of sitting, standing, walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and also in an organized way
- The candidate should be reliable and also a team player
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills and also an excellent oral and written communication
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to order picking, unpack products received by store and count, weigh or sort items, maintain computerized stock inventory, record incoming stock, stock shelves and display areas and also keep stock clean and in order
- The candidate should be able to bag, box or parcel purchases for customers, for shipment or delivery, carry customer’s purchases to parking lot and pack orders in customers’ vehicles and also obtain articles for customers from shelf or stockroom
- The candidate should be able to perform general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors), operate electric palette jack, operate forklift and also provide customer service
