Shift: 37.5 hours/week
Schedule: Labour Day and weekend

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have landscaping or horticulture and maintenance experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform the physical demands, including lifting, bending, and kneeling on a regular basis and 16 years of age or older
- The candidates should be willing and able to work in an outdoor environment and actively participate in daily activities in various weather conditions
- The candidates should be currently enrolled in school full-time and returning to school full-time in the fall of 2024
- The candidates should be available to work full-time from May 1, 2024, to Labour Day weekend
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience operating power equipment, lawn care machinery, and hand tools
- The candidates should have a valid MTO ‘G’ class driver’s licence in good standing with a driver’s abstract acceptable to the City (zero demerit points maximum of 1 conviction within the previous 36 months no driving-related criminal code convictions within the previous 36 months and no ignition interlock restrictions)
- The candidates should have a passion for promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace and the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment
- The candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity, and Inclusion and strong commitment to delivering quality customer service
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform grass cutting, trimming, and general clean-up and perform tree planting, watering, and basic tree care
- The candidates should be able to conduct parks and sports field maintenance, garbage collection, daily washroom maintenance, and general repair and upkeep within parks
- The candidates should be able to facilitate special events, handle Eby Farm care and operations, perform garbage collection, daily washroom maintenance, and general repair and upkeep within Waterloo Park
- The candidates should be able to install and maintain planting beds, planters, and hanging baskets, and perform greenhouse plant care activities
- The candidates should be able to conduct grass cutting, trimming, general clean-up, and assist with burials within Parkview and Mount Hope cemeteries
- The candidates should be able to assist with regular inspections and maintenance of playgrounds and splash pads, and perform grass cutting, trimming, and general clean-up
