Salary: $19.25 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal  employment Full time
Location: Ellerslie, PE
Shifts: On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation, Public transportation is not available, Valid driver’s licence, and Own vehicle

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Field work location experience:
Prince Edward Island
Equipment and machinery experience: Shellfish processing machine
Own tools/equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves, and Mask
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks and handle heavy loads
  • The candidates should have attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and be able to bend, crouch, and kneel
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to work outdoors and in wet and damp conditions, including environments with strong odours
  • The candidates should be able to work in cold or refrigerated settings, noisy environments, and hot conditions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills and be flexible and reliable
  • The candidates should be team players and be client-focused

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to clean, sort, and pack shellfish, clean machines and immediate work areas, and record production information
  • The candidates should be able to cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing, and set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate, or otherwise process fish or seafood products
  • The candidates should be able to set up and operate machines to can, bag, box, or otherwise package fish and seafood products, and check products and packaging for defects and ensure conformance to company standards, performing corrective machine adjustments as required
  • The candidates should be able to sort fish according to species, weight, and destination
