Type of product: Coniferous trees, Deciduous trees, Bonsai plants, Christmas trees, Cut flowers, Ornamental trees, shrubs, hedges
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Cantonese, Mandarin
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years’
Equipment and machinery experience: Chain saw, Christmas tree cutting machine or equipment, Forklift, Garden tractors, Irrigation pumps and equipment, Mechanical cultivator, Mechanical seeder, Mechanical sprayer
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be adept at efficiently handling repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be capable of managing and lifting heavy loads as part of their responsibilities
- The candidates should be physically fit to meet the demands of the role
- The candidates should be comfortable with standing for extended periods during their work shifts
- The candidates should be proficient in tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should have experience in floriculture production
- The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and more than 45 kg (100 lbs)
- The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp area, outdoors, and hot area
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to engage in brush collecting, bud trees, clean crops, perform clipping, and conduct deleafing
- The candidates should be able to undertake greenhouse cleaning, harvest seedlings, mix fertilizer, cut seeds, and weed
- The candidates should be able to assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants, mix and prepare soils, plant bulbs and seeds, pot and re-pot plants, transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings, apply fertilizers, report signs of insect or disease damage, assist in grafting activities, dig up wrapping root balls of trees and shrubs, water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and clean the work area
