Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a two-year technical diploma
Experience: Candidates should have one year of experience for one year of education

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have an equivalency of or one year of education for one year of experience
  • The candidates should have experience with hand and power tools and a good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance, and safety of small equipment
  • The candidates should have experience working in custodial, landscaping, or similar positions
  • The candidates should have exceptional communication skills and a comfort level in dealing with difficult customer interactions or complaints
  • The candidates should have experience working within a campground setting,  supervisory experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to oversee Park maintenance operations for a single large and/or complex site or several smaller and less complex Parks sites
  • The candidates should be able to train and supervise subordinate staff to ensure effective park operations, schedule and oversee corrective and preventative maintenance of park facilities, vehicles, and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform park maintenance duties and operate necessary equipment, assist in the operation of various utility systems, where applicable
  • The candidates should be able to purchase supplies and services required for park maintenance and operations
  • The candidates should be able to provide input and expertise into park facility operation plans to support continuous improvement
  • The candidates should be able to drive innovation and collaboration to enhance service delivery, oversee service contracts and manage contractors to ensure quality standards are met
  • The candidates should be able to ensure all work complies with visitor needs, organizational priorities, divisional and departmental guidelines, and OHS policies and regulations
