Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of some high school education
Experience: Candidates should have on one year of considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have directly related experience based  for one year of education,  some high school education and one year of related experience or directly related experience based on one year of experience for one year of education
  • The candidates should possess a Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent and provide a Driver’s Abstract
  • The candidates should hold a current Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”/AED Certificate
  • The candidates should have experience with hand and power tools, along with a good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance, and safety of small equipment, experience working in custodial, landscaping, or similar positions
  • The candidates should possess chainsaw certification, exceptional communication skills and a comfort level in dealing with difficult customer interactions or complaint

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform lawn maintenance and conduct minor repairs of facilities
  • The candidates should be able to carry out routine custodial and cleaning duties of park facilities, respond to in-person requests for information on area amenities and park conditions
  • The candidates should be able to perform routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to complete trail and signage projects, report all maintenance concerns accordingly and in a timely manner
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate familiarity with and follow all pertinent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies, procedures, and protocols, including the Facility Emergency Response Plan
  • The candidates should be able to complete administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and online training courses
