Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have current BLS Certification
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to regularly lift/move objects/supplies up to 30 lb and engage in frequent standing and walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have equivalency, which may include the completion of an adequate portion of the BN or Practical Nurse program to enable the applicant to meet a majority of the duties, responsibilities, and psychomotor competencies of the PCA
- The candidates should demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with residents, staff, and families
- The candidates should exhibit demonstrated initiative, the ability to work independently, and prioritize work duties
- The candidates should have a satisfactory record of work performance
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to regularly lift/move objects/supplies up to 30 lb and engage in frequent standing and walking
- The candidates should regularly perform a variety of body movements, including bending, kneeling, stretching, and pushing and pulling objects using light to medium force
- The candidates should be adept at data input, visual monitoring, and maintaining higher than normal levels of attentiveness and attention to the health and safety of others in the provision of all forms of care
