Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal Record Check, Immunization Records, Vulnerable Sector Check, Tuberculosis Test, and Reference Required

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to supply and empty bedpans, take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and serve meal trays while feeding patients as needed
• The candidates should be able to weigh, lift, turn, and position patients, make beds, maintain patients’ rooms, and bathe, dress, and groom patients
• The candidates should be able to transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers, collect specimens, and administer first aid in emergency situations
• The candidates should be able to provide personal care and companionship, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and launder clothing and household linens
• The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, and feed or assist in feeding
