- The candidates should be able to receive prescriptions from patients while ensuring compliance with provincial legal and regulatory conditions
- The candidates should be able to assess prescriptions for completeness, including patient details, allergies, third-party information, and special requests
- The candidates should be able to perform computer functions such as data entry, patient information updates, price checks, prescription processing, and report generation
- The candidates should be able to interpret and process written prescriptions, including recognizing Latin abbreviations, drug names, and performing dosage calculations
- The candidates should be able to fill prescriptions under the pharmacist’s supervision, ensuring accuracy through verification checks and proper labeling
- The candidates should be able to maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, checking for expired medications, processing returns, and ordering supplies
- The candidates should be able to organize pharmacy shelves, check off and price pharmacy orders, and ensure the proper selection of interchangeable drugs
- The candidates should be able to perform general housekeeping tasks, such as stocking prescription supplies, maintaining a clean work environment, and cleaning dispensing equipment
- The candidates should be able to handle clerical tasks, including filing prescriptions, invoices, and reports, as well as completing administrative support functions
- The candidates should be able to assist with over-the-counter (OTC) operations, including ordering, stocking, and cashier duties
