Work setting: Staff accommodation available, Staff accommodation provided, Rural area, Remote location, and Willing to relocate
Transportation information: Public transportation is not available
Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Equipment and machinery experience: Farm truck, Fertilizer applicator, Loader, Tillage equipment, Tractor, Hand tools, and Forklift
Product inspection experience: Poultry
Automated systems experience: Automated irrigation system and Feeding and watering system
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work efficiently under pressure, meeting tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be adept at handling repetitive tasks and physically fit for tasks involving heavy loads and demanding physical activities
  • The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, possess good hand-eye coordination, and have the ability to distinguish between colors
  • The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday, comfortable standing for extended periods, and able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling as part of their duties
  • The candidates should have expertise in other poultry farming and be experienced in poultry and egg production, be comfortable working outdoors and capable of working in/on water, and be familiar with working in confined spaces and adaptable to wet/damp working conditions
  • The candidates should be able to work in environments with odors and be accustomed to working in dusty conditions, be resilient to cold/refrigerated working conditions and have knowledge of tree and orchard fruit farming, and should have expertise in livestock management and be skilled in horticultural field crop cultivation

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to various situations
  • The candidates should exercise good judgment in decision-making and be organized in their approach to tasks and responsibilities
  • The candidates should be a team player, capable of collaborating effectively with others, and excel in oral communication
  • The candidates should be reliable in meeting commitments and deadlines, as well as quick learners, able to acquire new skills efficiently

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to feed inventory, handle animals, and implement soil fertility programs
  • The candidates should be able to fertilize and spray crops, feed and tend animals, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens, detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry, and set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
  • The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties, maintain quality control and production records, provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
