Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in financial planning and investment sales

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be goal-oriented and enterprising, capable of working independently as motivated entrepreneurs with minimal supervision and as part of a larger team

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be working towards or have successfully obtained the title of Personal Financial Planner (IQPF) in Quebec
  • The candidates should be certified mutual fund professionals with current accreditation and in good standing with the MFDA (Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course) licensing requirements
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and the regulatory environment
  • The candidates should be bilingual in French and English, as they will serve both English and French speaking clients in accordance with Scotiabank’s language needs assessment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to conduct in-depth reviews for assigned clients, including retirement planning, wealth management, and estate planning, using financial planning skills and tools to support clients’ financial goals
  • The candidates should be able to exhibit a natural curiosity to discover and meet client needs, providing reliable financial advice regarding investments and retirement planning
  • The candidates should be able to work autonomously and be performance-driven in uncovering client needs, actively listening to understand what clients are looking for, and developing personalized financial strategies and solutions
  • The candidates should be able to engage clients effectively, educating them while providing relevant information and expert advice
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate a collaborative approach in building relationships with peers, clients, and partners
  • The candidates should be able to focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience while developing long-term relationships with existing customers
